Many of you may have heard that the Catholic Church in the United States is in the midst of a Eucharistic Revival with several stages and facets that are designed to enrich the understanding of and appreciation for the Eucharist among all Catholics, practicing and not practicing.  What a wonderful gift of grace it will be if this three year process bears significant fruit in respect for the incredible gift we cherish to receive the Lord Himself at every Mass.
Here at St. Elizabeth Seton we have planned a program of enrichment that seeks to deepen the Eucharistic spirituality of each parishioner no matter where they are on their journey of faith.
1. The Paschal Mystery & the Eucharist:
Monday, September 18 at 7 pm or Tuesday, September 19 at 9:30 am
2. Real Presence & Eucharistic Worship:
Monday October 9 at 7 pm or Tuesday October 10 at 9:30 am.
3. Eucharist & The Call to Holiness:
Monday November 13 at 7 pm or Tuesday, November 14 at 9:30 am
4. Eucharist and the Call to Evangelize & Serve, in the context of the Advent Retreat on December 2 beginning with Mass at 8:30 am.
In general, the Monday presentations will be given by Patty Mann and the Tuesday presentations by Father Michael.  Both Father and Patty will lead the retreat.

SMALL DISCUSSION GROUPS

We will be offering small reflection groups for seven weeks with a choice of day or time from the week of October 1 through the week of November 12.  Small groups are a wonderful way to reflect and share on a deeper level.  We will be reflecting on a series called Jesus and the Eucharist formulated by the USCCB in conjunction with St. Augustine Institute.  If you participated in a small group in the Spring you will be invited to continue with that group if you wish.  Everyone in the parish is invited to join a group.  More information will follow on these gatherings.

SYNODAL PARISH DIALOGUE SESSION

Under the leadership of the diocese we will have a parish dialogue session focusing on our experience of the Eucharist.  This will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 9:30 am – noon.  People will meet in groups of eight in the social hall and will be able to express their views freely.  I am in need of group facilitators and note-takers for this session.  Please let me know if you are interested in these roles.  A parish sign up for this event will come out in September.

“Should I go to Mass this weekend?”

Many faithful wrestle with this question, amid the latest news on the coronavirus. But perhaps answering the question, “Why should I go to Mass?” and understanding the blessings of encountering the real presence of Christ will offer the compelling reason to attend Mass in person.

To help promote this, the diocese is launching a seven-week program to re-introduce the gifts received when attending Mass, none greater than the Eucharist.
