SMALL DISCUSSION GROUPS
We will be offering small reflection groups for seven weeks with a choice of day or time from the week of October 1 through the week of November 12. Small groups are a wonderful way to reflect and share on a deeper level. We will be reflecting on a series called Jesus and the Eucharist formulated by the USCCB in conjunction with St. Augustine Institute. If you participated in a small group in the Spring you will be invited to continue with that group if you wish. Everyone in the parish is invited to join a group. More information will follow on these gatherings.
SYNODAL PARISH DIALOGUE SESSION
Under the leadership of the diocese we will have a parish dialogue session focusing on our experience of the Eucharist. This will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 9:30 am – noon. People will meet in groups of eight in the social hall and will be able to express their views freely. I am in need of group facilitators and note-takers for this session. Please let me know if you are interested in these roles. A parish sign up for this event will come out in September.
“Should I go to Mass this weekend?”
Many faithful wrestle with this question, amid the latest news on the coronavirus. But perhaps answering the question, “Why should I go to Mass?” and understanding the blessings of encountering the real presence of Christ will offer the compelling reason to attend Mass in person.
To help promote this, the diocese is launching a seven-week program to re-introduce the gifts received when attending Mass, none greater than the Eucharist.
